• Yeongcheon Market (Dongnimmun Yeongcheon Market) — famous for kkwabaegi twisted doughnuts, a market specialty since the 1970s, and old-style street-stall tteokbokki; a few minutes' walk from Dongnimmun Station

Tip

• Allow 1–1.5 hours and arrive at least 30 minutes before last entry; it's closed on Mondays, which catches many visitors out.
• Combine it with Independence Gate (Dongnimmun) in the same Seodaemun Independence Park, then walk to Yeongcheon Market for snacks.
