It is the UNESCO World Heritage shrine where Joseon kings' ancestral tablets are kept, a quiet, unpainted counterpart to the colorful palaces.

- Weekdays: guided tours only, at set times (English tours available). Weekends & public holidays: free viewing 09:00–18:00 (Feb–May, Sep–Oct), 09:00–18:30 (Jun–Aug), 09:30–17:30 (Nov–Jan); last entry 1 hour before closing · Tuesdays
