What it is

The Suwon Hwaseong Festival brings history to life by recreating the most magnificent moments from King Jeongjo's historic eight-day royal visit to Hwaseong in 1795. Using detailed records from the Wonhaeng Eulmyo Jeongni Uigwe, the festival blends authentic historical scenes with high-quality modern performances, creating a unique bridge between past and present.

What to expect

You'll experience immersive performances like "Suwon Fantasy: Yajo," the "Seonyumong" Water Performance, and "Time Travel: Haenggung Night Story." The highlight is joining the King Jeongjo Royal Parade—the largest royal procession reenactment in Korea—where you become part of the spectacle alongside citizens and visitors from around the world.
